Welcome to Hazel Vial, a roleplay about an MMORPG called Hazel Vial. Hazel Vial focuses on deep, interesting characters in a realistic (though futuristic) world. Guests should feel free to browse the forum, post in guest-friendly areas, or contact an admin with questions.


Overview
Hazel Vial is a video game created by a college student and his team of artists and coders. First released in 2013 for beta testing, Hazel Vial has grown and is largely considered the most advanced MMORPG in 2015. The NPCs in the game employ artificial intelligence, and the game itself is in total virtual reality. Hazel Vial shut down for three months after the end of 2014, and our RPG starts as the game comes back to life in March, 2015.

» Eastern Capital [IC]

Chiton
The capital city of Chiton is Andell's biggest, busiest city. The government is headquartered in the keep on the Eastern side of the city. Chiton boasts a large, open marketplace, a district of shop buildings, and many civilian homes. The army stays on the northern side of town.

Meadows
A large expanse of meadows surrounds Chiton to the north, west, and south. Their proximity to Chiton makes the open land an ideal place for players to meet. Only weak monsters wander this close to the populated capital.

Brown Bear Falls
To the east of Chiton lies a large mountain range, and Brown Bear Falls marks the most interesting and time-worthy portion of the mountains. Located south of Chiton, Brown Bear Falls tumbles 50 feet before plummeting into Brown Bear River. Numerous cave systems wind into the mountainside near the falls.

» Northern Rebel Camp [IC]

Campgrounds
In the far north of Andell, the rebels have erected a campgrounds the size of a village. Tents are pitched around community fires, and players take turns guarding the camp. No monsters venture into the busy camp, but wandering salesmen and farmers sometimes come to peddle their wares.

The rebels have staked a claim larger than their actual campgrounds, and players patrol the border of their perceived territory. The terrain is flat meadows, and the only nearby village is Mantle. Weak and average monters sometimes wander into the area.

Mantle
The northernmost village in Andell, Mantle is the only town that dares associate with the rebels. The villagers tread a careful line between supplying the rebels and avoiding government suspicion. Government soldiers often patrol the city. The village is small but in good shape.

» Southwestern Wilderness [IC]

Gainsport
Gainsport is the westernmost and second largest town in Andell. Due to its distance from the capital, Gainsport receives little scrutiny from the government. The townspeople are less friendly than many other villages, but Gainsport offers a large marketplace and many players. Gainsport sits on the east side of the Western River.

Pirate's Heaven
A player-named area, Pirate's Heaven is a cut-throat, well-endowed portion of Andell. Pirate's Heaven includes all the land west of the Western River. The Gainsport Bridge is the only connection between Pirate's Heaven and the rest of Andell. High level players often camp in the area, and strong monsters reside in the hilly lands.

Empty Forest
A small forest lies in the south-central area of Andell. The forest takes its name from the distinct lack of undergrowth and bushes between the tall pine trees. Average and strong monsters reside in the forest. Several small villages have sprung up on the outskirts of the forest.

Prairie Borderlands
The entire southern border of Andell is a vast expanse of prairie. Monsters of all strengths claim pockets of prairie as their own. Due to its distance from both the capital and the rebels, the area boasts low player traffic. Resources from the area command a higher price on the market due to their scarcity.
